Prologue
I really
don’t give a damn about prologues. I think there pointless and stupid. Why get
introduced to a book when you can just start reading it? Oh shit, I’m doing it
now.
So, my name
is Autumn Knight.
Hey, wait a
minute. You know those shitty support groups for alcoholics and drug addicts?
That’s what I sound like right now. Like they would stand up and see ‘Hi, my
name Sarah and I’m addicted to crack...’ and the group would all say in a
monotonous voice ‘Hey, Sarah.’ Well my story is not like that (and I’m not a crack
addict.)
I have been
through, like, everything. It’s been a hard journey. But I got through it with
the help of friends. Oh crap, sounding like a support group again. But really,
it’s been hard. So, when you moan that your parents are not letting you go out or
whatever, think that some people’s parents have died.
Oops. Maybe
I’ve said too much.
Chapter
1
I ran deep
through the forest of trees and twigs, with the sharp pointed edges attacking
me. Below me was thick moss that was absorbed in brown, murky water that I
could see on my boots. Broken leaves looked like wavy fabric against my suede
heel. I slowly began to be tired, as I was panting and I could feel little
lumps of sweat run down against my face and legs. I decided to stop, to look
things back.
Let’s see,
what had happened? My head consisting of deep melodic thumping noise, I can’t
remember.
